Perennial hairy herbs. Racemes dense terminal or axillary, ebracteate elongating in fruit. Calyx 5-partite. Corolla 5-lobed, throat scales present. exserted. Ovary 4-lobed. Gynobase ± pyramidal. Nutlets ± ovoid, appendiculate, appendages glochidiate.
