Notes:

This species has been confused with Gaertnera cooperi, and is also similar to G. bieleri and G. leucothyrsa.

Distribution:

West and Central Africa, in Democratic Republic of Congo ("Congo-Kinshasa"), Republic of Congo ("Congo-Brazzaville"), Guinea, Côte d'Ivoire, Liberia, and Sierra Leone, in humid forests at 1100-1600 m.
