Perennial, erect herbs. Branches stellate pubescent. Leaves 3-12 cm long and broad, 5-parted, upper leaves hemplike, lower ones often geranium-like, stellate pubescent on both sides, more so beneath, lobes linear-oblong to oblong, lanceolate to broad ovate, coarsely and irregularly toothed; stipules 3-5 mm long, linear; petioles shorter than the blade. Flowers axillary solitary with c. 10 cm long pedicel, or 2-3 flowers on 10-20 cm long peduncle with 1-3 cm long pedicel. Epicalyx segments 7-9, 3-7 mm long, lanceolate. Calyx 6-10 mm long, fused below the middle. Corolla twice the length of calyx, pink. Fruit 6-8 mm across, glabrous; mericarp 12-16, ± 3 mm long and broad, dorsally 1-2 mm broad, carinate. Seeds c. 2 mm across, glabrous, reniform, dark brown.
