Note: Chase (1921) p. 222, indicates the voucher from China was undoubted sent to Linneaus by Osbeck. Osbeck (1757) "listed a plant under the date of September 27 1751, as ~Panicum alopecuroides~ (without description), among plants observed growing along hedgerows near Canton." Linnaeus also cited Pluk. alm. 177. t. 119. f. 1. (= ~Perotis indica~ fide O. Kuntze 1890s, RJS 2017)
