Cacalia sagittata Vahl, Crassocephalum sonchifolium (L.) Less., Emilia javanica (Burm. f.) C.B. Rob., E. marivelensis Elmer, E. sinica Miq., E. sonchifolia (L.) DC. var. javanica (Burm. f.) Mattf., E. taiwanensis S.S. Ying, Hieracium javanicum Burm. f., Prenanthes javanica (Burm. f.) Willd., Senecio auriculatus Burm. f., S. rapae F. Br., S. sagittatus Hieron., S. sonchifolius (L.) Moench., Sonchus javanicus (Burm. f.) Spreng.

Emilia sonchifolia, en la actualidad pantropical, consiste de dos variedades nativas de Asia; E. sonchifolia var. javanica es una hierba robusta anual, con los involucros 6-8 mm de diámetro y cabezuelas con 25-35 flores.
