Annotation: [Baillon name NOT in IPNI. Baillon name in Tropicos earlier as "!" (legitimate) and as "Bot. Jahrb. Syst.28: 590.1901" (but this 1901 citation refers instead to Hieron name, which I just entered into Tropicos as a new record). The Baillon bibliographic reference was changed by me today to "Bull. Mens. Soc. Linn. Paris 1: 267. 1880. Herring Jahrb. Hamb. 31: 129.1914 also cited "Baccharis spicata (Lam.) Baill." and as in as in Usteri, Fl. Sao Paulo 260. 1911, which I do not have at hand, and which post-dates the 1901 Hieron. "Baccharis spicata sp. nov." from Ecuador. I don't find Baccharis spicata in either Mart. Fl. Brazil or Fl. Sao Paulo 1897 (both of which I do have at hand) which appears to be different reference +/or wiith different pagination than that referred to by Heering. Fl. Sao Paulo 1897 is different reference wiith different pagination than the 1911 ref. The 1897 ref has Baccharis in pp 271-315, but not on 1897: "260" either where I find only Podocoma. jp-1-2016]
