Arbustos hasta 7 m, suculentos, glabros. Hojas 9-22 × 4.5-10 cm, isofilas, elíptico-oblongas a ligeramente ovadas, cartáceas a coriáceas al secarse, la base cuneada a obtusa, el ápice agudo a acuminado; nervaduras secundarias 6-8 pares, pinnadas, ligeramente prominentes en el envés; pecíolos 6-20 mm; estípulas 22-76 mm, obtusas a redondeadas. Flores solitarias; pedúnculos 1.5-2 mm; hipanto 5-10 mm; limbo calicino ausente; corola hipocraterimorfa, blanca, el tubo 85-112 mm, los lobos 5-6, 35-54 mm, angostamente triangulares, agudos; anteras 5-6(7), c. 8 mm, subsésiles; estigmas 2-2.5 mm, subcapitados. Cápsulas 65-100 × 8-13 mm, lisas; semillas 3-4 × c. 1 mm. Bosques de neblina y premontanos. CR (Bello y Cruz 767, MO). 800-1500 m. (Mesoamérica, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Perú.)
