Hillia chiapensis Standl., H. hathewayi Fosberg.

Árboles y arbustos hasta 4 m, glabros. Hojas 0.6-1.5 × 0.3-1 cm, isofilas, elípticas, subcoriáceas a coriáceas al secarse, la base cuneada a aguda, el ápice obtuso a redondeado; nervaduras secundarias inconspicuas; pecíolos 1-2 mm; estípulas 4-5 mm, obtusas a redondeadas. Flores solitarias; pedúnculos c. 1 mm; hipanto 2-3 mm; limbo calicino ausente o 6-7 mm, 4-lobado, los lobos ligulados; corola hipocraterimorfa, blanca, el tubo 24-35 mm, los lobos 4, 8-10 mm, lanceolados, agudos; anteras 4, 1-2 mm, subsésiles; estigmas 5-10 mm, lineares. Cápsulas 20-40 × c. 3 mm, lisas; semillas 1-2 mm. Bosques premontanos y de neblina.
