Notas: This species belongs to Hillia subg. Tetrandrae, and is apparently polinated by hawkmoths. It is quite commonly collected. It is similar to Hillia loranthoides, and these may not be distinct however Hillia loranthoides is well marked morphologically, so this situation deserves more study before these are combined.
Distribución: Wet lowland, premontane, and occasionally montane forests at 0-1350(-2650) m, in Cuba, Jamaica, Hispaniola, and southern Mexico (Oaxaca) through Nicaragua.
