Cosmibuena matudae (Standl.) L.O. Williams, Fieldiana, Bot. 31: 45. 1965; Hillia matudae Standl.; C. holdridgei Monach.

Plantas hasta 16 m de alto. Hojas elípticas, 6.5–13 cm de largo y 3–8 cm de ancho, ápice agudo, base cuneada a aguda, nervios secundarios (6) 7–9 pares; pecíolos 10–30 mm de largo; estípulas 15–30 mm de largo. Flores (2) 3 (4), pedicelos 6–15 mm de largo; limbo calicino 7–13 mm de largo incluyendo los lobos de 5–8 mm de largo; tubo corolino 60–82 mm de largo, lobos 25–35 mm de largo y 6–20 mm de ancho. Cápsulas 28–65 mm de largo y 6–13 mm de ancho; semillas 5–6 mm de largo.

Ocasional, generalmente en nebliselvas, zona norcentral; 1200–1400 m; fl jun–ago, fr todo el año; Moreno 9550, Stevens 11505; Chiapas, México a Nicaragua.
