Notes: Notopleura tapajozensis is similar to several species of Carapichea, which differ in their solitary, capitate, terminal inflorescences with involucral bracts, although these are sometimes displaced to pseudoaxillary as the fruits develop and sometimes lose their bracts as the fruits develop: Carapichea altsonii, Carapichea nivea, Carapichea sandwithiana, and Carapichea urniformis.
