Arbustos hasta 1.5 m, suculentos, glabros. Hojas 2-10 × 1.6-4.5 cm, isofilas, elípticas a oblanceoladas, al secarse coriáceas, la base cuneada a aguda, el ápice agudo a ligeramente acuminado; nervaduras secundarias 3-5 pares, pinnadas, aplanadas en el envés; pecíolos 5-15 mm; estípulas 15-34 mm, obtusas a agudas. Flores 1-3; pedúnculos 1-4 mm; hipanto 2-8 mm; limbo calicino ausente o 5-10 mm, 4-lobado, los lobos ligulados a oblanceolados; corola hipocraterimorfa, blanca, el tubo 45-75 mm, los lobos 4, 15-25 mm, elípticos, redondeados; anteras 4, 7-8 mm, subsésiles; estigmas 8-12 mm, lineares. Cápsulas 30-75 × 5-11 mm, lisas; semillas 1.5-4 mm. Bosques de neblina y premontanos. Ch (Breedlove y Almeda 57488, CAS); G (Steyermark 33667, MO); CR (Bello y Cruz 844, MO). 700-2700 m.
