Notas: This species belongs to Hillia subg. Hillia, and is apparently pollinated by hawkmoths. It is quite similar to Hillia parasitica, but has smaller flowers; the relationships among Hillia wurdackii and the plants of Hillia parasitica found in the same region may be more complex and deserve re-evaluation, but field observations will probably be needed.
Distribución: Wet montane forests at 2000-2400 m, Ecuador and Peru.
