Arbustos hasta 2 m, suculentos, glabros. Hojas 2-6.5(-7.5) × 1.3-4 cm, isofilas, elípticas a ampliamente elípticas, coriáceas al secarse, la base redondeada a cuneada, el ápice agudo a acuminado; nervaduras secundarias 5-7 pares, subpalmadas, aplanadas en el envés; pecíolos 4-11 mm; estípulas 5-17 mm, obtusas. Flores solitarias; pedúnculos 1.5-2 mm; hipanto 5-10 mm; limbo calicino 8-15 mm, 7-10-lobado, los lobos angostamente ligulados a triangulares; corola infundibuliforme, verde a verde-amarillenta, el tubo 28-39 mm, los lobos 7-10, 6-7 mm, oblongos, redondeados; anteras 8, 6-8 mm, subsésiles; estigmas c. 2 mm, subcapitados. Cápsulas 60-102 × 8-10 mm, lisas; semillas 1-2 mm. Selvas húmedas. P (Pittier 6594, US). 0-900 m. (Mesoamérica, Guyana, Surinam, Ecuador, Perú, Bolivia, Brasil.)
