Scoparia montevidensis (Spreng.) R.E. Fr., Ark Bot. 6(9): 22. 1831; Microcarpaea montevidensis Spreng., S. annua Schltdl. & Cham.

Hierbas anuales, erectas, (5.5–) 9–20 (–30) cm de alto, glabras. Hojas inferiores ovadas, las superiores oblanceoladas, 8–20 (–35) mm de largo, pinnatífidas, margen crenado-dentado o subentero; pecioladas. Flores generalmente solitarias, pedicelos 5–15 mm de largo; cáliz 5-lobado, 1–3 mm de largo; corola 2–2.5 mm de largo y 3.5–4.5 mm de ancho, amarilla. Cápsula ovoide-elipsoide, 2.5–3.5 mm de largo.

Poco común, en matorrales húmedos, zona norcentral; 0–1000 m; fl y fr todo el año; Moreno 14183, Stevens 9876; México a Argentina.
