Slender annuals up to 45 cm tall. Stem dichotomous, glabrous, woody below; branches ascending. Leaves 7-20 mm long, 1-3 mm broad, linear to lanceolate, scattered. Flowers greenish yellow, in short terminal and extra axillary racemes 2.5-11 cm long; pedicel c. 1 mm long. Calyx tube c. 4 mm 6 long, urceolate, constricted into a narrow tube above ovary, 4 lobed; lobes 1 mm long, acute. Upper 4 stamens antisepalous. Ovary c. 1.5 mm long; style 1 mm long, linear. Fruit 2 mm long, ovoid, shiny black.
