Steereobryon, endemic to the Neotropics, is monospecific, represented by S. subulirostrum (Schimp. ex Besch.) G.L. Sm. The genus is characterized by crispate, oblong-obovate or elliptical bluntly serrate leaves, with limbate margins, at least present on some leaves, narrow costa without or with 2-4 rows of 1-3 cells high lamellae, finely pluripapillose border cells, cylindrical capsule, and 32 peristome teeth.
Steereobryon, es endémico del Neotrópico, monoespecífico, representado por S. subulirostrum (Schimp. ex Besch.) G.L. Sm. El género se caracteriza por las hojas crispas, oblongo-obovadas o elípticas obtusamente serradas, con márgenes limbados, por lo menos presente en algunas hojas, costa angosta sin lamelas o con 2-4 filas de lamelas de 1-3 células de alto, borde de las células finamente pluripapilosos, cápsula cilíndrica y 32 dientes del peristoma.
