10. Trichodon Schimp.   毛齿藓属 mao-chi xian shu
Coroll. Bryol. Eur. 36. 1856.
Plants small, yellowish green, in loose or dense tufts. Stems erect, usually simple. Leaves flexuous or crispate to subsecund above when dry, wide-spreading when moist, lanceolate, rather abruptly narrowed from an oblong-ovate, sheathing base to a long, linear or subulate acumen; margins plane or occasionally slightly reflexed below, serrulate above; costa single, percurrent, filling most of the subula; upper cells short-rectangular, firm-walled, smooth; basal cells rectangular, thin-walled; alar cells not differentiated. Dioicous. Setae slender, straight; capsules cylindric, slightly inclined, smooth when dry; opercula short conic-rostrate; annuli differentiate, in several rows of large, thick-walled cells, revoluble, deciduous; peristome teeth 16, linear-lanceolate, papillose, 2–3 divided nearly to the base, basal membrane low. Calyptrae cucullate, smooth, naked. Spores spherical, small, smooth.

The genus consists of two species in the world. Only one species is found in China.
