Ecology. Open or forested Yungas and Tucuman-Bolivian montane to humid puna; exposed to shaded sites, usually on soil or rocks, often along or in streams. Elevation. 1300-3830 m. Distribution. Bolivia: Chuquisaca, Cochabamba, La Paz, Santa Cruz. World range: widespread in temperate and montane regions.
Ecología. Montano abiert o bosque montano de Yungas y Tucumano-Boliviano a puna húmeda; sitios expuestos a sombreados, generalmente sobre suelos o rocas, a menudo a lo largo de quebradas. Alitud. 1300-3830 m. Distribución. Bolivia: Chuquisaca, Cochabamba, La Paz y Santa Cruz. Distribución mundial: amplia distribución en regiones templadas y montañosas.
Kindbergia praelonga is distinguished by the terete-foliate plants, differentiated stem and branch leaves, broadly ovate abruptly acuminate stem leaves (to 1.4 mm) with reflexed apex, smaller, ovate-lanceolate to lanceolate branch leaves (to ca. 1 mm) with erect apex, serrate margins, costa extending into the leaf acumen, elongate, papillose setae, cylindrical, horizontal to inclined capsules, and long rostrate opercula. This taxon has generally been recognized as Eurhynchium praelongum (Hedw.) Schimp. Cratoneuron oedogonium Müll. Hal. (= Kindbergia oedogonium (Müll. Hal.) Ochyra) is a likely synonym.
Kindbergia praelonga se distinguide por las plantas terete-foliadas, hojas de tallos y ramas diferenciadas, hojas de los tallos ampliamente ovadas abruptamente acuminadas (hasta 1.4 mm) con ápices reflexos, hojas de las ramas ovado-lanceolado a lanceoladas (hasta aprox. 1 mm) con ápices erectos, menores, márgenes serrados, costa extendiéndose en el acumen de las hojas, seta papilosas, alargadas, cápsulas cilíndricas, horizontales a inclinadas y opérculo largo-rostrado. Este taxón generalmente ha sido reconocido como Eurhynchium praelongum (Hedw.) Schimp. Cratoneuron oedogonium Müll. Hal. (= Kindbergia oedogonium (Müll. Hal.) Ochyra) probablemente es un sinónimo.
