Daltonia pulvinatais distinguished by the oblong-lanceolate leaves to 3 mm long, plane leaf margins (not revolute or recurved), short rhomboidal-oval upper laminal cells (2:1), well differentiated border at leaf base (7-10 cells wide), distally roughened seta to 6 mm long. This species is rather a small version of D. longifolia, with gemmae present; possibly equal to that species.
