Daltonia stenophylla is characterized by linear-lanceolate leaves to 3 mm long and 0.3 wide at base, slender acuminate apex, revolute leaf margins, weak border of 5-8 cells rows at leaf base, and distally weakly roughened seta to 9 mm long.

Daltonia stenophylla se caracteriza por las hojas lineo-lanceoladas hasta 3 mm de largo y 0.3 de ancho den la base, ápices acuminados delgados, márgenes de las hojas revolutos, borde débil de 5-8 filas de células en la base de la hoja y setas hasta 9 mm de largo débilmente rugosas distalmente.
