Ecology. Semi-humid puna and prepuna, possibly in upper Tucuman-Bolivian montane; on rocks. Elevation. 2700-5000 m. Distribution. Bolivia: Chuquisaca, La Paz, Santa Cruz. World range: northwest Argentina and Bolivia.
Ecología. Puna semi-húmeda y prepuna, posiblemente en el montano superior del Tucumano-boliviano; sobre rocas. Altitud. 2700-5000 m. Distribución. Bolivia: Chuquisaca, La Paz y Santa Cruz. Distribución normal: noreste de Argentina y Bolivia.
The following collections match those illustrated and commented on by Herzog (1916). The striations observed on leaves (and illustrated in Herzog 1916) may be a type of cyanobacteria. The type of A. arachnoids was collected by Lorentz in the early 1870’s near Tafi, Argentina.
Las siguientes colecciones concuerdan con aquellas ilustradas y comentadas por Herzog (1916). Las estrías observadas en las hojas (e ilustradas en Herzog 1916) pueden tratarse de un tipo de cianobacterias. El tipo de A. arachnoids fue colectado por Lorentz a principios de 1870’s cerca de Tafi, Argentina.
