Plants rather robust, yellowish green or yellowish brown, somewhat glossy, in loose mats. Stems curved, ascending, to 5–10 cm long, irregularly branched; branches curved or dendroid, simple, attenuate at tips. Stem leaves appressed when dry, spreading when moist, ovate, 1.5–2.1 mm × 1.1–1.2 mm, concave, plane or somewhat plicate, acute at apex, distinctly decurrent at base; margins entire or serrulate above mid-leaf; costae ending at mid-leaf or slightly above; median leaf cells linear, 80–120 µm × 5–10 µm, with angled ends, thin-walled; alar cells distinctly differentiated, inflated, rounded-rectangular or hexagonal, thin-walled, in a broad group; branch leaves similar to stem leaves, 0.99–1.67 mm × 0.68–0.81 mm. Dioicous, rarely autoicous. Perichaetial leaves triangularly lanceolate, twisted or reflexed above, truncate at base, ecostate. Setae reddish brown, papillose throughout; capsules inclined, cylindrical, necks not developed; opercula shortly conic-rostrate; annuli differentiated, in 2 rows; endostome segments as long as exostome teeth, perforate; cilia 2, slightly shorter than the segments. Spores not seen.
