Breutelia harpophylla is characterized by subentire leaf margins and distinct papillose laminal cells (D. Griffin, pers. com.). The type of this species was collected by Herzog in the vicinity of Llavetal.
 
Breutelia harpophylla se caracteriza por los márgenes de la hoja subenteros y células de la lámina conspicuamente papilosas (D. Griffin, pers. com.). El tipo de esta especie fue colectado por Herzog cerca de Llavetal.
