Pleuridium andinum exhibits lower stem leaves broadly acute to obtuse, bifid marginal serrations, and capsules ca. 0.6 mm (Griffin 1987). The type is from Llavetal (Department of Cochabamba). The recent collections by Carreño & Huanca (1435, 1450) from Vallegrande in the department of Santa Cruz were made at a significant lower elevation.
