15. Plagiothecium subulatum Broth. 狭叶棉藓 xie ye mian xian

Plants slender, soft, green, glossy, in loose mats. Stems prostrate, irregularly branched; leaf branches short, ca. 1.5 mm wide, distantly foliate, often with clustered rhizoids on vertral surfaces. All leaves ovate-lanceolate, slightly concave, 0.75–1.60 mm × 0.25–0.60 mm, gradually narrowed to a long, filiform apex; margins plane, entire; costae double, short or nearly absent; median leaf cells linear-rhomboidal, 84–120 µm × 9.8–14.0 µm; basal cells lax, elliptic, hyaline; alar regions slightly decurrent. Autoicous. Inner perichaetial leaves with highly sheathing base, slenderly acuminate. Setae ca. 10 mm long, slender, dark red; capsules horizontal, nearly globose to ellipsoidal, brownish; other features not seen.
