Ecology. Open high montane to humid puna; exposed sites, on rocks or soil covered rocks in or along streams and waterfalls. Elevation. 3510-4020 m. Distribution. Bolivia: Cochabamba, La Paz. World range: endemic to the tropical Andes. The identity and status of this species has recently been discussed by Seppelt and Griffin (1997). In Bolivia this species requires additional studies.
Ecología. Montano abierto alto a puna húmeda; sitios expuestos, sobre rocas o rocas cubiertas por suelo a lo largo de quebradas y cascadas. Altitud. 3510-4020 m. Distribución. Bolivia: Cochabamba y La Paz. Distribución mundial: endémica de los Andes tropicales. La identidad y estado de esta especie ha sido revisada recientemente por Seppelt y Griffin (1997). En Bolivia esta especie requiere estudios adicionales.
Ditrichum bogotense is characterized by the narrowly lanceolate-subulate leaves to 8 mm, toothed apices, and rather thick-walled cells of sheathing leaf base with distinctly porose juxtacostal cells in the lower half. Campylopus spirifolius Herzog, from San Benito (Department of Cochabamba) collected by Herzog in 1908, is a synonym. Ditrichum bogotense (Hampe) Broth.
Ditrichum bogotense se caracteriza por las hojas angostamente lanceolado-subuladas hasta 8 mm, ápices dentados, y células de la base envainadora de la hoja con paredes muy gruesas y células yuxtacostales conspicuamente porosas en la mitad inferior. Campylopus spirifolius Herzog, colecatada por Herzog en San Benito (departamento de Cochabamba) en 1908, se trata de un sinónimo.
