Plants medium-sized to rather robust, yellowish green or brownish green, glossy, in dense mats. Stems prostrate, to 10 cm long, usually uni-pinnately branched; branches ca. 1.0 cm long, often curved, more or less julaceous, attenuate at tips. Stem leaves broadly oblong-ovate, elliptical, 1.6–1.9 mm × 0.8–1.0 mm, concave, broadly rounded obtuse; margins entire; costae absent; median leaf cells linear, 45–65 µm × 5–6 µm; alar cells colored, usually consisting of 3–4 layers of cells. Dioicous. Setae 30–35 mm long, reddish brown; capsules cylindrical, 3.0–4.0 mm long; opercula conic-rostrate; exostome teeth linear-lanceolate, obliquely or cross-striolate in basal 4–5 plates, papillose above; endostome segments linear, as long as the teeth, smooth. Spores not seen.
