Plants small, stiff, dark green, not glossy, in loose mats. Stems prostrate, sparsely, irregularly branched, densely foliate, often with simple, somewhat flattened branches. Stem leaves sparse, oblong-ovate or elliptical, ca. 1.65 mm × 1.0 mm, acute or somewhat apiculate at apex, more or less cordate at base; margins serrulate above, slightly recurved; costae ending well below leaf apex, sometimes projecting at tips; median leaf cells linear-rhomboidal, 54–56 µm × 4–6 µm, with angled ends, thin-walled; basal cells at insertion shortly rectangular, somewhat thick-walled; alar cells few; branch leaves narrowly elliptical, ca. 1.4 mm × 0.7 mm, acute at apex; margins serrulate; costae ending close to leaf apex, projecting at tips. Dioicous. Perichaetial leaves lanceolate, slenderly acuminate, twisted at apex, ecostate. Setae 10–25 mm long, reddish brown, roughened; capsules inclined; opercula long-rostrate; exostome teeth linear-lanceolate, yellowish; cilia 2, nodulose. Spores not seen.
