Plants small to medium-sized, in dense mats. Stems prostrate, to 3(–5) cm long, irregularly branched; branches julaceous, with few branchlets, attenuate at tips. Stem and branch leaves similar, more or less imbricate, oblong-elliptical or shortly ovate-lanceolate, 1.30–1.71 mm × 0.61–0.77 mm, concave, often twisted at apex; margins coarsely serrate; costae slender, ca. 2/3–3/4 the leaf length, strongly projecting at tips; median leaf cells long-linear, 130–190 µm × ca. 6 µm, thin-walled; upper and lower cells shorter; basal cells at insertion shortly rectangular; alar cells not distinctly differentiated. Dioicous? Setae 10–12 mm long, smooth above, somewhat papillose below; capsules inclined to horizontal, elongate-ellipsoidal; peristome not seen. Spores not seen.
