Plants medium-sized to rather large, in loose mats. Stems prostrate, to 4–6 cm long, pinnately branched, with complanate branches, sparsely foliate. Stem and branch leaves more or less similar, elliptical, 0.92–1.04 mm × 0.41–0.43 mm, widest at mid-leaf, acute or shortly apiculate at apex, constricted at base; margins serrate nearly throughout; costae strong, ending close to leaf apex, strongly projecting at tips; median leaf cells linear, 52–80 µm × 4–6 µm; basal cells broader; alar cells distinctly differentiated, rectangular. Dioicous? Perichaetial leaves narrowly ovate-lanceolate, ecostate, often twisted at apex. Setae ca. 15 mm long, roughened. Spores not seen.
