Leptopterigynandrum tenellum is characterized by the julaceous foliate branches, narrowly lanceolate leaves, and leaf apices terminating with 4 cells long. This species is only known from a single collection in Bolivia made by Herzog from Piñasgebietes.
 
Leptopterigynandrum tenellum se caracteriza por tener las ramas con hojas juláceas, hojas angostamente lanceoladas, y ápices de las hojas terminando en 4 células de largo. Esta especie sólo es conocida por una colección realizada en Bolivia por Herzog en Piñasgebietes.
