Ecology: Semi-dry submontane; on rocks. Elevation: 1100-1200 m (Bolivia: 1140-1200 m, Argentina: 1100 m). Distribution: Northwest Argentina, southern Bolivia, and Paraguay.

Ptychomitrium lindmanii is a rather small version (plants to 15 mm) of P. sellowianum (plants 30 mm or more), but the basal leaf is plane, not recurved.
 
Ptychomitrium lindmanii es una version bastante pequeña (plantas hasta 15 mm) de P. sellowianum (plantas 30 mm o más), pero las hoja basales son planas, no recurvadas.
