Plants robust, yellowish green to brown, glossy, in large mats. Main stems prostrate, erect, stiff, irregularly branched or arcuate. Leaves dense on stems, concave, ovate-lanceolate, long and narrowly acuminate, ca. 2.8 mm × 0.8 mm; margins entire; costae double, short; leaf cells linear, incrassate, apical cells ca. 58 µm × 5 µm; basal cells ca. 75 µm × 9 µm; alar cells differentiated, ca. 39 µm × 9 µm, hyaline, gradually becoming shortly quadrate toward margins. Monoicous. Inner perichaetial leaves erect, narrowly lanceolate. Setae somewhat erect, smooth, ca. 2.3 cm long; capsules straight, ovoid, ca. 2.4 mm × 1.6 mm; opercula short, conic; peristome double; exostome teeth with a median line below, abruptly constricted above, ca. 210 µm long; endostome segments as long as the teeth, sometimes split at tips; basal membrane low; cilia short, persistent.
