Ecology. Open and forested Yungas and Tucuman-Bolivian montane, and shrubby humid puna; on wet rocks, often associated with waterfalls or seeps. Elevation. 1140-3500 m. Distribution. Bolivia: Cochabamba, La Paz, Tarija. World range: Mexico, Central America, tropical Andes, eastern United States, Europe, Mid East, Asia.
 
Ecología. Montano abierto y bosque montano de Yungas y Tucumano-boliviano, y puna húmeda arbustiva; sobre rocas húmedas, a menudo asociadas con cascadas o filtraciones. Altitud. 1140-3500 m. Distribución. Bolivia: Cochabamba, La Paz y Tarija. Distribución mundial: México, Centro América, Andes tropicales, este de Estados Unidos, Europa, Medio Oriente y Asia.
 
Scopelophila ligulata is distinguished by the bluntly acute to obtuse leaf apex and bordered margin by darker and smaller cells.
