Ecology: Lowland forest; on trunk of trees and palms. Elevation: 100-510 m (Colombia: 100-200 m, Ecuador: 300 m, Peru: 100 m, Bolivia: 130-510 m). Distribution: Cuba, lowlands of South America; Africa.

The absence of stereid cells in the costa is a feature unique to C. pallidum. Other features include the leaves to 4 mm, presence of teniolae, and mammillose cells present on the ventral distal cancellinae. This species is apparently rare throughout the Neotropics. Synonyms include Calymperes piovanoi Bizot and Calymperes uleanum Broth.
La ausencia de estereidas en la costa es una característica única en C. pallidum. Otras características incluyen las hojas de hasta 4 mm, presencia de teniola y células mamilosas en la superficie ventral distal de las cancelinas. Esta especie aparentemente es rara en el Neotrópico.
