Ecology. Mostly associated with premontane to base Yungas and Tucuman montane forests; on logs, humus and soil covered rocks. Elevation. 370-1970 m. Distribution. Bolivia: Beni, Chuquisaca, Santa Cruz, Tarija. World range: locally widespread in the Neotropics.
Ecología. Generalmente asociada con bosques premontano a base de Yungas y montano del Tucumano-boliviano; sobre troncos en descomposición, humus y rocas cubiertas por suelo. Altitud. 370-1970 m. Distribución. Bolivia: Beni, Chuquisaca, Santa Cruz y Tarija. Distribución mundial: ampliamente distribuido localmente en el Neotrópico.
Chryso-hypnum elegantulum is characterized by the rather robust plants, crowded leafy stem, curved-acuminate leaves; alar cells only weakly differentiated with short-rectangular cells, and seta often more than 2 cm long.
Chryso-hypnum elegantulum se caracterizado por las plantas muy robustas, tallos con hojas agregadas, hojas curvado-acuminadas; células alares corto-rectangulares diferenciadas sólo débilmente y setas a menudo mayores a 2 cm de largo.
