Plants soft, rather large, brightly green to yellowish green, glossy, in loose mats. Stems prostrate, slender, elongate, to 10 cm long, irregularly or subpinnately branched, with circinate branches, often simple, attenuate at tips. Stem leaves appressed when dry, erect-spreading when moist, ovate-lanceolate, 1.5–2.5 mm × 1.0–1.5 mm, slightly concave, plicate, gradually or somewhat abruptly narrowed to a long, slender apex; margins serrulate above, nearly entire below; costae slender, ending at mid-leaf or below; median leaf cells linear-rhomboidal with more or less rounded ends, 45–60 µm × 6–7 µm, thin-walled; alar cells lax, shortly rectangular or quadrate; branch leaves smaller, ovate-lanceolate, 1.2–1.8 mm × 0.8–1.2 mm; margins serrulate above; costae ending below mid-leaf. Sporophytes not seen.
