Plants robust, in dense tufts. Stems creeping, up to 7 cm long; branches 1–2 cm long, with few and short flagelliform branchlets. Leaves ovate to oblong-ovate, distinctly plicate, suddenly tapered to linear or lanceolate apex, 1.6–2.2 mm × 0.7–0.9 mm; margins plane, entire; costa rather slender, reaching half of the leaf length; median leaf cells oblong-oval, thick-walled, 20–30 µm × 5–8 µm; upper cells slightly elongate; basal cells short, oval to subquadrate, 13–20 µm × 6–10 µm, thick-walled; alar cells subquadrate. Inner perichaetial leaves linear-lanceolate, up to 2.2 mm long, with weaker costa. Setae erect, elongate, 13–25 mm long; capsules erect or pendent, cylindrical to oblong-ellipsoidal; exostome teeth lanceolate, with lamella, verrucose on surfaces; endostome segments reduced or absent; basal membrane high; cilia not differentiated; opercula obliquely long-rostrate. Calyptrae loosely covered with long hairs.
