Ecology. Puna; apparently aquatic, on rocks. Elevation. 4600 m. Distribution. Bolivia: La Paz. World range: endemic to Bolivia. The type, originally placed in Sciaromium, was collected by Herzog during his second trip to Bolivia (1910-1911) from Choquecotachico (Quimzacruz). This species is presently only known from the type.
Ecología. Puna; aparentemente acuáticas, sobre rocas. Altitud. 4600 m. Distribución. Bolivia: La Paz. Distribución mundial: endémica de Bolivia. El tipo, originalmente localizado en Sciaromium, fue colectado por Herzog durante su segundo viaje a Bolivia (1910-1911) en Choquecotachico (Quimzacruz). Esta especie actualmente es conocida solamente por el tipo.

Plants rather small, forming mats. Stems stiff, to 4 cm long, irregularly short branched; in cross-section hyalodermis absent, central strand present; paraphyllia few and scattered, filiform. Leaves stiffly spreading, short lanceolate to triangular, to ca. 1.2 mm long, straight or somewhat falcate, apices acute or acute-rounded; margins plane, subentire to bluntly serrulate; costa single, very broad, filing distal half of acumen, ca. 3/4-4/5 lamina width, in cross-section undifferentiated with lamina bistratose at base; laminal cells elongate-to oblong-rhomboidal, 30-100 mm long, 5.5-8 mm wide, thick-walled, smooth to weakly papillose by projecting distal angles; basal cells yellowish-brown; alar region undifferentiated. Sporophytes unknown.
Plantas bastante pequeñas, formando matas. Tallos rígidos, hasta 4 cm de largo, ramificaciones irregularmente cortas; en corte transversal sin hialodermis, cordón central presente; pocos parafilos esparcidos, filiformes. Hojas rígidamente patentes, corto-lanceoladas a triangulares, ca. hasta 1.2 mm de largo, rectas o algo falcadas, ápices agudos o agudo-redondeados; márgenes planos, subenteros a obtusamente serrulados; costa simple, muy ancha, llenando la mitad distal del acumen, ocupando ca. 3/4-4/5 del ancho de la lámina, en corte transversal indiferenciada con la base de la lámina biestratifica; células de la lámina elongadas- a oblongo-romboides, 30-100 mm de largo, 5.5-8 mm de ancho, con paredes gruesas, lisas a débilmente papilosas por proyecciones de los ángulos distales; células basales pardo-amarillentas; región alar indiferenciada. Esporofitos desconocidos.
