Plants delicate, ca. 1–2 cm long, in loose mats. Stems irregularly sparsely branched; paraphyllia absent. Stem leaves gradually tapering to a lanceolate acumen from an ovate leaf base, 0.7–0.9 mm long, basal stem leaves ovate, sharply acute; costa slender, up to 2/3 the leaf length or vanishing at upper leaf portion; leaf margins entire or somewhat serrulate; branch leaves ovate-lanceolate to narrowly lanceolate; leaf cells with small single papilla, marginal cells mostly smooth; upper leaf cells smaller, oblong-hexagonal, 4–9 µm × 5–14 µm, thin-walled; median marginal leaf cells hexagonal to oblong multipolygonal, 5–10 µm × 6–15 µm; basal leaf cells oblong-hexagonal to narrowly polygonal; thin-walled. Male inflorescence and female inflorescence not seen.
