Plants slender, reddish brown to yellowish green, in dense mats. Primary stems prostrate, 4–5 cm long, with irregular, thin, elongate branches; paraphyllia absent. Leaves imbricate, secund above when dry, spreading when moist, ovate-lanceolate, acuminate upward, 0.9–1.1 mm × 0.4–0.5 mm; margins obviously recurved from base to apex at both sides; costa thick, strong, broadening below, slightly thin upward, sometimes flexuous, ending near apex; upper leaf cells irregularly rectangular, 10–15 µm × 4–5 µm, thick-walled; median cells rectangular to linear, 10–18 µm × 3–5 µm, thick-walled; basal cells near margins flatly quadrate to subquadrate, 5–10 µm × 7–10 µm; basal cells near costa rectangular, 10–20 µm × 5–7 µm. Dioicous? Sporophytes not seen.
