Hojas compuestas y simples en cada fascículo, las compuestas 3-folioladas; pecíolo alado. Fruto más o menos globoso, 7–10 cm de diámetro.

Muy común en la zona pacífica, ocasional en sitios secos en la zona atlántica, mayormente en sabanas, ocasional a lo largo de playas costeras; 0–920 m; fl ago–abr, fr probablemente todo el año; Grijalva 1886, Moreno 18033; México a Costa Rica. "Jícaro".
