Deciduous woody climbers with clinging adventitious roots. Leaves opposite, imparipinnate. Flowers in drooping panicles, orange or scarlet. Calyx tubularcampanulate, 5-lobed. Corolla 2-lipped, 5-lobed. Stamens 4, included. Ovary bilocular. Capsule linear, subterete. Seeds many, discoid, winged.
