 Separated from Chenopodium (Fuentes-Bazan & al., 2012). One species in Eurasia and North Africa.

Annual, almost glabrous, up to 1.2 m. Stems decumbent to erect, angular. Leaves up to 6 cm., petiolate, the lower ones ovate or oblong-ovate, the upper oblong to lanceolate, cuneate at base, acute or obtuse, entire, light green. Cymes of many small glomerules, usually subtended by leaves, arranged in elongated, rather loose, divaricately branched inflorescences. Perianth segments (4)5, 1-1.5 mm., united at base, oblong-ovate, broadly membranous at margin, not keeled, open in fruit. Stamens 4-5. Stylodia (= style-like stigmas) 2. Fruit 1-1.2 mm., with easily detached and non-papillate pericarp. Seeds discoid, obscurely punctate, black, without keel, outer seed-coat layer (testa) with vertical stalactites. Separated from Chenopodium (Fuentes-Bazan & al., 2012). One species in Eurasia and North Africa.
