2. Cissus L. (Lombardi, 2000)

About 200 species, widespread in tropical and warm-temperate regions of both the Old World and New World.

Some exotic species of Cissus are cultivated as house plants and in greenhouses, and have large tuberous rootstocks and/or succulent sometimes winged stems. The rootstocks of various species reputedly are poisonous.
