Small, succulent annual herb. Leaves pinnatisect or laciniate, stipulate. Inflorescence a terminal spicate raceme. Flowers very small, subsessile, tri or tetramerous, bracteate; disc annular, inconspicuous. Sepals (3-) 4 (-5), persistent. Petals (3-) 4, minutely clawed. Stamens (3-) 4, filaments without scaly appendages at the base, persistent. Carpels 4; ovary sessile, 4-angled, 4-loculed; stigmas 4, decurrent. Fruit a loculicidally dehiscent 4-angled capsule.
