Twenty-seven species, North America to South America.

Species of Tiquilia formerly were included in Coldenia L. That genus has become restricted to the single species, C. procumbens L., a weedy Old World annual that grows in mesic habitats, has asymmetrical leaf blades, and has flowers with the perianth 4-parted (Richardson, 1976, 1977).
