1. Aconitum L. (monkshood)

About 100 species, North America, Europe, Asia.

Aconitum is closely related to Delphinium. A recent molecular phylogenetic study of the group even suggested that Aconitum might represent a basal group within a broadly circumscribed Delphinium (Jabbour and Renner, 2011), but more detailed research involving a broader sampling of species is needed to address this issue.
