7. Sherardia L.

One species, Europe, Asia, introduced widely.

In its whorled leaves without apparent stipules Sherardia is similar to Galium. It differs in its headlike inflorescences, pink corollas with a well-developed tube, and schizocarpous fruits. For comments about this leaf arrangement, see the discussion under that genus.
